Naturopathy

It is common to differentiate naturopathy from allopathy, in that the first technique does not use any product that is not derived from the natural order.

Naturopathy never dispenses a patient to follow or continue treatment by medication, but it offers in parallel natural physical and emotional alternatives to help the person.

Thus we find among the methods used by the naturopath:

=> the herbal treatments: herbal medicine, aromatherapy, Bach flower;

=> the water-based treatments: thalassotherapy, spa;

=> massage therapy;

=> energy treatments: reflexology;

=> dietetics...

What is Naturopathy ?

Naturopathy: primarily holistic therapy

The basic principle of naturopathy is that any physical problem can not be cured permanently if you do not see the cause.

Example: take a medication for a migraine will remove the physical problem but not necessarily remove the cause.

A migraine that is repeated can have many causes:

=> Psychosomatic: in this case, we must find the trigger (emotional shock, poorly managed stress, etc.);

=> Liver: intolerance to certain foods (chocolate, sausages, alcohol): naturopath then proposes a liver cleanse by using multiple plants or reflexology massages;

=> hormonal: women may have migraines in premenstrual period or at other times of the cycle. It may be helpful to talk to a gynecologist, a change in hormonal treatment or pill, can have good results;

=> vascular;

=> hereditary.

The history

Assuming that a disease can have many causes, the naturopath will consider each possibility and will lead an interview called history with each patient, which will allow him to study the patient's condition and his lifestyle habits.

This approach of the individual as a whole - or holistic approach - often leads to improvements in the overall balance of the individual and towards wellness.

Do no harm

Another basic principle of naturopathy: first, do no harm:

=> it does not include invasive techniques;

=> for example, if manual reflexology techniques (acupressure, shiatsu, reflexology) belong to the field of naturopathy, acupuncture that uses needles, in fact not even if it is part of natural medicine.
