Choosing Your Oven

Today, buying an oven became almost indispensable in any respectable kitchen. However, face many models that offer manufacturers, it is often difficult to find it.

You can choose between 3 types of oven:

=> The range consisting of oven and hob.

=> Mini-oven, which arises directly where you want it.

=> The built-in oven, which will be placed under a worktop or in a part of your kitchen.

The heating system of oven

There are different systems:

=> Natural convection: the traditional system whose major drawback is the preheating time.

=> The convection: air is circulated throughout the oven for more even cooking. Thawing functions and oven are sometimes proposed.

=> cyclonic heat with halogen oven: the cooking is performed by convection of a turbine to hot air and by infra-red emission.

=> Microwave, useful for reheating but not for cooking dishes.

=> Steam: ideal for a healthy dietary cuisine, but the steamer is quite expensive.

=> Solar heat: ideal for energy savings, but depends on the climate.

Gas or electric?

Cooking is not the same: gas, it is soft, whereas electricity, it is crispy.

The electric oven is less economical than a gas oven, but it must have city gas to really make savings.

The type of cleaning

Your oven can be equipped optionally with a system of self-degreasing or self-cleaning:

=> The catalysis: oven walls absorb fats when the heat reaches 200°.

=> Pyrolysis: The oven is heated to 500° to reduce to ashes any dirt. This method is very effective but more expensive.
