Choose a LCD

Today, it is virtually impossible to work without a computer. The majority of population has a computer at home with a CRT or LCD. CRTs (Cathode Ray Tube) tend to disappear to make way for LCD screens that have the advantages of being lighter and less bulky.

The LCD format is shown in inches (1 inch equals approximately 2.54 cm) and is calculated by measuring the screen diagonal. Several sizes are available: 15 inches (38 cm), 17 inches (43 cm), 19 inches (49 cm), 20 inches (50 cm), 23 inches (58 cm) and 30 inches (76 cm). Care must be taken not to confuse the definition of screen and size. Although large screens display a higher resolution, screen can display multiple definitions. Note that the larger the screen, the more expensive it is. The screen size choice depends on your usage: for office, a 15-inch or 17-inch enough, for graphics and image processing, a larger screen is recommended for a better user experience.

The LCD screens brightness is expressed in candela per square meter. More luminance is high, the image is bright (candela means candle in Latin). The contrast is purchase criterion just as important as the screen brightness. It is the light intensity variation of the brightest and darkest areas of image. Furthermore, this variation is, the better the color rendering.

As mentioned above, the screen size is not the same as resolution or definition. The definition is the number of dots (pixels) that the screen can display. This number of points is generally between 640 x 480 (length x width) and 1600 x 1200. However higher definitions are technically possible. The resolution, in turn, determines the number of pixels per area unit (pixels x linear inch), DPI (dots per inch). A resolution of 300 DPI means 300 columns and 300 rows of pixels per square inch, which therefore gives 90,000 pixels per square inch. The image is composed of pixels which are given in seconds. This is called synchronization. Synchronization speed is measured in Hertz, horizontally and vertically. The higher this value is, the better the viewing experience, you can not see the image flicker. It must therefore be greater than 67 Hz (bottom limit from which the eye actually sees the image flashing). Most people no longer perceive flicker from 70 Hz and greater than or equal to 80 Hz is ideal.

A display that does not consume much energy is recognizable by its Energy Star label. It shows that a screen has a processor automatic standby, that when nothing happens, saves energy.
Some LCD screens include features called multimedia, that is to say, they offer besides the integrated speakers or a USB hub to connect multiple devices.

There are many brands offering quality LCD screens: Samsung, Philips, LG, Asus, Acer, HP...

Choosing Your Oven

Today, buying an oven became almost indispensable in any respectable kitchen. However, face many models that offer manufacturers, it is often difficult to find it.

You can choose between 3 types of oven:

=> The range consisting of oven and hob.

=> Mini-oven, which arises directly where you want it.

=> The built-in oven, which will be placed under a worktop or in a part of your kitchen.

The heating system of oven

There are different systems:

=> Natural convection: the traditional system whose major drawback is the preheating time.

=> The convection: air is circulated throughout the oven for more even cooking. Thawing functions and oven are sometimes proposed.

=> cyclonic heat with halogen oven: the cooking is performed by convection of a turbine to hot air and by infra-red emission.

=> Microwave, useful for reheating but not for cooking dishes.

=> Steam: ideal for a healthy dietary cuisine, but the steamer is quite expensive.

=> Solar heat: ideal for energy savings, but depends on the climate.

Gas or electric?

Cooking is not the same: gas, it is soft, whereas electricity, it is crispy.

The electric oven is less economical than a gas oven, but it must have city gas to really make savings.

The type of cleaning

Your oven can be equipped optionally with a system of self-degreasing or self-cleaning:

=> The catalysis: oven walls absorb fats when the heat reaches 200°.

=> Pyrolysis: The oven is heated to 500° to reduce to ashes any dirt. This method is very effective but more expensive.

Choosing a Vacuum

The vacuum cleaner is a small appliance that fits almost all homes. The vacuum cleaner manufacturers are constantly proposing new models, new features, new accessories. It becomes difficult to find.

The vacuum cleaner operation is simple. Brush straightens the fibers and retains dust. The engine creates a depression which sucks the dust and entrain it inside the apparatus.

Vacuum cleaner power

The power of a vacuum cleaner is called useful power. This power output is the result of a combination between the depression and the air flow.

Vacuum cleaner decibels

The noise emitted by a vacuum cleaner is given to carefully monitor in the purchase time, especially when children are nearby.

There are different types of vacuum cleaners:

Conventional vacuum cleaners:

=> The canister vacuums: all vacuum cleaners that hang with wheels:

- bag vacuum cleaners;
- bagless vacuum cleaners;
- silent vacuum cleaners: they emit less than 74 db;
- Tank or greedy vaccum cleaners: they are able to swallow the liquid as well as solid.

=> Portable vacuum cleaners:

- brushes vacuum cleaners: a very useful manual brush to pick up and store the dust mop;
- electrical brushes: an upright vacuum that carries;
- Car vacuums: The car vacuum cleaner is very convenient to clean the vehicle;
- backpack vacuums: the backpack vacuum is worn on the back and sucks the finer dust particles via a manual air pump .

=> The cordless vacuum cleaners:

- hand vacuum: the handheld is an extra device that quickly becomes essential;
- central vacuum systems: central vacuum is a hose that connects all the parts of house to a large storage tank;
- vacuum robot: it is a small round device that moves and draws itself;
- pool cleaners: pool vacuum cleans pools, the bottom walls through the waterline.

=> Vacuum cleaners: vacuum cleaner uses steam to loosen dirt and remove it effortlessly.

=> Industrial vacuum cleaners:

- wet and dry vacuum cleaner: wet and dry vacuum sucks both solid and liquid wastes;
- injector-extractor: injector-extractor cleans deeply carpets, rugs and other upholstered surfaces;
- sweeping vacuum: sweeping vacuum cleans chimneys, stoves and boilers;
- chips vacuum: chips vacuum collects wood chips;
- ash vacuum: ash vacuum is dedicated to those who need to clean cold ashes from their fireplace, barbecue, grill or wood stove;
- asbestos vacuum: asbestos vacuum cleaner is used by the professional to remove asbestos dust safely.

=> The hood trash: mechanical suction device fixed to look like a trash, designed to avoid the use of shovel and broom and back problems that their use can cause.

Practice Sport: a minimum of precautions

Do not engage in a sport without a minimum of precautions, due to the significant risks that you incur if you have not practiced any physical activity for long time.

The resumption of sport

After a long period of interruption, it is in the moment of resumption of physical activity that arise the most significant risks to the cardiovascular and muscular level. Without preparation, your heart, muscles and tendons suffer unnecessarily.

Patience and perseverance

You quickly see the benefits of sport, on your body and your mind. But it will take a few months to see an improvement in your performance. It is unnecessary, illusory and even dangerous to imagine that you run 20 kilometers at a steady pace with only fifteen days of preparation: neither your heart or your lungs or your legs will support such an effort. However, if you run regularly for one or two years, you will make this distance effortlessly.

Spontaneously, the animals perform a physical effort to find food, escape or play. This is always a brief effort, sometimes intense. The man on the contrary, has established himself throughout his history long endurance events, the marathon is a modern example: the choice is unique to the man, and only adult man. Children generally prefer team sports, where the dimension of play is important. It is only by growing he will be more interested in more individual sports such as athletics, cross country running, or swimming, sports that require a lot of willpower to gain the necessary endurance.

During his history of tens of thousands of years, the man has learned to flee, fish, hunt, fight, look for more hospitable horizons, which has always required an intense physical activity. It is only in the last 200 years that the industrial revolution has imposed a more sedentary and more secure way of life which we begin to measure the negative effects.

Naturopathy

It is common to differentiate naturopathy from allopathy, in that the first technique does not use any product that is not derived from the natural order.

Naturopathy never dispenses a patient to follow or continue treatment by medication, but it offers in parallel natural physical and emotional alternatives to help the person.

Thus we find among the methods used by the naturopath:

=> the herbal treatments: herbal medicine, aromatherapy, Bach flower;

=> the water-based treatments: thalassotherapy, spa;

=> massage therapy;

=> energy treatments: reflexology;

=> dietetics...

What is Naturopathy ?

Naturopathy: primarily holistic therapy

The basic principle of naturopathy is that any physical problem can not be cured permanently if you do not see the cause.

Example: take a medication for a migraine will remove the physical problem but not necessarily remove the cause.

A migraine that is repeated can have many causes:

=> Psychosomatic: in this case, we must find the trigger (emotional shock, poorly managed stress, etc.);

=> Liver: intolerance to certain foods (chocolate, sausages, alcohol): naturopath then proposes a liver cleanse by using multiple plants or reflexology massages;

=> hormonal: women may have migraines in premenstrual period or at other times of the cycle. It may be helpful to talk to a gynecologist, a change in hormonal treatment or pill, can have good results;

=> vascular;

=> hereditary.

The history

Assuming that a disease can have many causes, the naturopath will consider each possibility and will lead an interview called history with each patient, which will allow him to study the patient's condition and his lifestyle habits.

This approach of the individual as a whole - or holistic approach - often leads to improvements in the overall balance of the individual and towards wellness.

Do no harm

Another basic principle of naturopathy: first, do no harm:

=> it does not include invasive techniques;

=> for example, if manual reflexology techniques (acupressure, shiatsu, reflexology) belong to the field of naturopathy, acupuncture that uses needles, in fact not even if it is part of natural medicine.
