How to Make More Money with Aweber by Selling Advertising

When it comes to your mailing list and the names of those people that have signed up, you need to protect it. It’s not always easy to get someone on your list so once you do you want to make sure you provide them with valuable content and promotions that fit the topic of what your list is about.  Because your list is so important, if you’re going to sell advertising in your Aweber newsletter you need to be very choosy about what advertisements you promote. So, let’s talk about some ways that you can make money selling ads in your newsletter.

How to Sell Newsletter Ads

Send Your First Email Newsletter Today - AWeber Communications

It’s already been mentioned, but it’s worth mentioning again – make sure you only sell and promote relevant ads that are related to your newsletter audience and their interests. You worked hard to get those subscribers; you don’t want to lose them by selling ad space to promote something irrelevant.

So, how do you sell newsletter ads? One of the ‘easiest’ ways is to make a list of those people in your niche who have products or services relevant to your list. Once you’ve created a list of potential advertisers you can reach out to them and explain what running an advertisement in your newsletter means. Let them know that their ad will be seen by X  (how many ever people are on your list) number of people, it will help get their brand/products/services seen in a new market they haven’t targeted yet, how responsive your list is, etc.

There are also services available that make it easy to arrange this type of transaction. One that has a good reputation is SafeSwap.com. List owners can buy and sell “solo-mailings” with a guarantee of a certain number of clicks. Buyers choose the list owner to buy from based on the type of list they have, and their reputation (SafeSwap uses a rating system for both buyers and sellers) for providing good results. As a seller, you have the right to refuse any ads that don’t match your market or list.

Another thing to keep in mind when you’re trying to sell newsletter ad space is that potential customers are going to probably check out your newsletter first. You’ll want to make sure that you’re providing high quality content so that the potential buyer sees that and realizes your newsletter is the perfect opportunity to represent them and their business.

What to do once You’ve Sold Ad Space

It’s always a good idea that once you’ve sold newsletter ad space to have a conversation (via the phone or Skype or email – whatever works best for you and your customer) with the customer so that you can find out what their goal is for the ad. Are they looking to get more subscribers to their list? Do they want to sell 10 of their $97 product?

You and your customer need to have realistic expectations of what will come out of the newsletter ad. If your list is only 300 subscribers but they want to get 500 new people to sign up for their list that obviously isn’t a realistic expectation.

Once you and your customer have all the details figured out and the ad is ready to go it’s a good idea to set up the newsletter (with their ad) and send a test email to you and them before it gets sent to the entire list. This gives not only your customer but also you a chance to look over the newsletter ad and make sure it looks okay. If it’s just a text ad make sure there are no spelling or grammar errors. If there’s a link in the text ad, make sure the link works. If it’s a banner ad, make sure it’s the right size and that the image links to the correct site.

While running Aweber newsletter ads won’t make you rich overnight it’s a fairly simple way to make more money with your newsletter.

Phone Cards: Save with prepaid cards

Calls abroad are expensive regardless of where in the world you are. But you'll find much cheaper rates using prepaid cards.

With a prepaid international calling card, you can call from anywhere, at any time and enjoy the most attractive rates. You can use phone cards at work, at home, from a booth or laptop when you want to make international calls.

If you do not have a phone line at home, calls with cards cost much cheaper than calls made from payphones. You can also easily use the phone with a friend using the free access number, so your friend will not pay anything.

Phone cards providers offer international calls right markets because they can buy large quantities of minutes with discounts. Some people even use their prepaid cards in call centers (small shops with phones for long distance calls), so they only pay the cost of a local call.
